The Winter 2021 Cycle is open for applications from November 15, 2021 to December 31, 2021.

​

To apply, fill out the form below, including your project title, a brief description of the project, the amount you are requesting (up to $1500) and a link to your application video.

 

Your application video should be 5 minutes or less and include the following:

​

1. Your name.

2. A description of your project.

3. Its current stage of development.

4. Your goals for the project.

5. Your goals for your own artistic career as a Black, Indigenous or filmmaker of color.

6. How you will use the award to further both.

​

Your video should be simple and straightforward, just you and a camera. No need for 8K hi-res video. Your phone or even your grandparents' handicam will work just fine. No costumes or fancy camera work. This is your opportunity to tell us directly your vision for the project and the award.

If you would like to submit any supplementary materials - screenplay, production plan, mood board, outline, directing or cinematography reel - you are welcome to do so by hitting the link below the form. Please make sure any files uploaded include your name in the filename. THIS IS NOT REQUIRED. Your submission will be judged primarily on your vision for the project as communicated in your application video.

Recipients of awards for the Summer Cycle will be announced March 1, 2022.
